Trucking & Aggregate Delivery
We deliver clean material on a schedule – gravel, sand, topsoil, fill, crushed stone – across all 19 of our service areas. We also haul out: debris from a demolition or soil from an excavation. Whether you need one tandem load of topsoil for a backyard or twenty triaxles of fill for a building pad, we run it from a yard close to where you are.
Materials we deliver
Granular A
Common road and driveway base material, OPSS spec.
Pea gravel
Landscaping, walkways, drainage.
Granular B (Type I or II)
Sub-base, larger material, used under Granular A.
Beach sand
For your cottage beach area
3/4 inch clear stone
Drainage, weeping tile bedding, septic beds, decorative.
Fill and structural fill
For grading and building up sites.
Crushed gravel and crusher run
Driveway top dressing, packing material.
Topsoil
Screened, for lawns, gardens, and final landscaping.
If you’re not sure what you need, ask – most of our customers come in describing the job, not the spec.
Trucking & Aggregate Details
01
Truck sizes & load capacities
- Tandem-axle dump truck — roughly 14-15 tonnes. The standard residential delivery truck.
- Triaxle dump truck — roughly 19-20 tonnes. For larger jobs.
A single tonne covers about 60–65 square feet at 3 inches deep, or 45–50 square feet at 4 inches deep, useful when you’re estimating how much you need.
02
Delivery & access - cottage roads, soft ground
Cottage country has its own rules:
- Some private cottage roads have weight limits – we run smaller trucks where needed.
- Spring break-up periods (frost coming out) can close certain roads to heavy trucks.
- Soft, wet, or steep approaches need to be assessed before we commit.
If your site has any of these issues, mention them when you call – we’d rather size the truck right than find out at the end of the driveway.
03
Debris removal & haul-out
We don’t only deliver – we haul out, too. Common haul-out scopes:
- Demolition debris from a teardown
- Excavated material from a foundation or basement dig
- Old asphalt, concrete, or brick
- Yard cleanups (organic and inorganic)
If we’re already on-site for excavation or demolition, the haul-out is usually built into that quote.
Pricing - by load and by tonne
Aggregate is priced two ways: per load delivered (most common for residential) or per tonne (more common for commercial). Topsoil is usually priced per yard. The price for any specific load depends on:
The Material
Topsoil and clear stone are higher; fill and Granular B are lower.
Truck
Distance
The distance from the source pit.
Time of year
Half load season is more expensive.
We quote a delivered total – you don’t get hit with surprise haul charges.
