MacTier-specific notes
- Permits – The Township of Georgian Bay is the Chief Building Official for the area and is also the jurisdiction having authority for septic systems, so building permits and septic permits both run through the same Township office.
- Lakes and shoreline – Georgian Bay, Go Home Lake and Six Mile Lake. We coordinate any shoreline or Conservation Authority approvals as needed for waterfront and island properties.
- Granite and rock terrain – MacTier sits on the Canadian Shield, so rock is common close to the surface. We size our equipment and approach for rock breaking and removal where excavation hits bedrock.
- Cottage roads and seasonal access – Many properties are on narrow, seasonal or shared cottage roads. We plan equipment access around these routes and around cottages being converted to year-round homes.
